Background
​
Lark Finserv is a digital platform that helps you get loans using your mutual fund investments as security. According to SEBI, more than 50% of investors withdraw their mutual fund investments within a year, missing out on long-term benefits.
To solve this, the RBI allowed banks to offer loans against mutual funds. Lark Finserv is among the first to adopt this solution, making the loan process simple, fast, and accessible for everyone.
Problem

The company relied on in-house teams and outside partners to handle customer questions, share information, and process applications. But this was slow and expensive.
To fix this, they created LISA, a conversational AI assistant, to answer user queries and simplify the process. It worked well, so now they want to digitize loan applications and automate tasks like credit limit updates and portfolio notifications, without manual input.
My job was to design a system that makes it easy for people to talk to LISA and assign tasks she can automate efficiently.

Process + Solution
​
The app already had a solid framework and was working well with conversational AI. With limited time, we focused on building on what was already there instead of making any big changes. Key features like onboarding, app sessions, and user settings remained untouched to ensure stability while introducing new improvements.​ We added quick-access panels for Tasks and FAQs, to make important information easier to find. Users could now copy, share, and vote on responses. We also gave the app a visual refresh to make it more intuitive and user-friendly. In the end, we created a smoother experience, with a SUS score of 90 in internal testing, showing that people found it easy and enjoyable to use.
